Tahani Chaudhry is a 3rd year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at George Mason University. Tahani has been involved with DVARC since moving to the DC area in 2019. Tahani earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and a Master’s degree from George Mason University. Her research explores the interaction of survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) with religious institutions. She is particularly interested in religious help-seeking and identifying the helpful and harmful messages religious leaders communicate to survivors of IPV. Tahani also works with a national non-profit organization, Peaceful Families Project, with the aim to prevent intimate partner violence in the Muslim community. These experiences reflect Tahani’s interests in using community engagement to spread awareness, provide resources and prevent IPV in underserved communities.
