Erin M. Scheick is the Managing Attorney in the Family Law Practice of Bread for the City’s Legal Clinic, and has been involved with DVARC since its inception. Ms. Scheick’s legal practice is centered on representing survivors of domestic and sexual violence in civil protection order, family law, and immigration matters. Over the past decade, Ms. Scheick has worked with or on behalf of domestic and sexual violence survivors in various capacities, including direct representation, curriculum development and training of law students and attorneys working with survivors, and national and international lectures on gender-based violence and the U.S. justice system. Ms. Scheick is currently President of the Board of Directors of La Clínica del Pueblo, a community-based health center, and a former Peace Corps Volunteer. When she is not working, Ms. Scheick spends time with partner and two children, enjoying as much time as possible outdoors – preferably camping, hiking, or biking. She is a novice quilter, and an avid knitter, and is always involved in three or more arts-related projects at a time. Ms. Scheick holds a BS from Johns Hopkins University, a SM from Harvard School of Public Health, a JD, summa cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law, where she was a Public Interest/Public Service Scholar, and a LL.M. from George Washington University School of Law.
